Head of Commissioning (Rotating Equipment/Mechanical)

We are looking for an experienced Head of Commissioning – Rotating Equipment / Mechanical to lead the commissioning and start-up of major machinery and rotating equipment for a large-scale Oil & Gas project in Qatar.

Key Responsibilities:
Lead commissioning and start-up activities for major machinery packages.
Provide technical direction and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, EPC contractors and machinery vendors.
Oversee installation, pre-commissioning, commissioning and start-up activities.
Coordinate machinery design and engineering deliverables across disciplines.
Provide technical guidance to EPC contractors and support vendor coordination.
Manage commissioning check sheets, system completion, punch lists and close-outs.
Lead activities including lube oil flushing, shaft alignment, coupling checks, dry gas seal commissioning and machinery pre-start-up checks.
Identify machinery performance deficiencies and support warranty claims.
Ensure safe and quality-compliant execution of commissioning activities.
 
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Applied Sciences.
10+ years of experience across engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning in the Oil & Gas industry.
Minimum 2 years of supervisory/leadership experience.
Strong experience with large industrial rotating equipment, including centrifugal compressors, turbo-expanders, hydraulic turbines, LNG pumps, API pumps, rotary screw compressors, magnetic bearings and dry gas seals.
Excellent English communication skills.
Strong technical, coordination, prioritisation and management skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office.
