About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Head of Camps – Operations, Maintenance & Catering to provide leadership and oversight across multiple construction camps supporting a major LNG onshore development in Qatar.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that camp operations, maintenance, catering and worker welfare services are delivered to a consistently high standard and in accordance with applicable Qatari legislation, international standards, project requirements and industrial-city regulations.
This is a senior project role requiring strong leadership, stakeholder management and operational expertise across a complex, multicultural environment involving multiple EPC Contractors, Subcontractors, Camp Operators and service providers.
Key Responsibilities
The role will be responsible for maintaining consistent standards across a number of construction camps operated by different Contractors and service providers.
Success will require the ability to build effective working relationships, influence Contractor decision-making, identify emerging issues and ensure deficiencies are addressed promptly, while maintaining a strong focus on worker welfare, safety, quality and operational performance.

About the Role

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee camp operations, maintenance and catering services across multiple construction camps, site Field Operations Centres and mess facilities.
- Provide project-level oversight of EPC Contractors and Subcontractors to ensure accommodation and welfare facilities meet contractual, regulatory and project requirements.
- Monitor Camp Operators' performance and ensure appropriate standards are maintained across all facilities.
- Identify deficiencies and drive timely corrective actions relating to camp operations, maintenance, catering, worker welfare, safety and quality.
- Ensure camp operations and maintenance programmes are effectively planned, implemented and sustained.
- Provide oversight of camp operational and maintenance budgets and ensure essential maintenance activities are appropriately planned and delivered.
- Oversee catering facilities and services, ensuring compliance with recognised international food safety standards, including HACCP principles.
- Support the investigation, reporting and resolution of camp-related SHE incidents in coordination with relevant safety and welfare teams.
- Develop and provide regular management reports covering camp operations, accommodation availability, manpower forecasts, welfare matters and key performance issues.
- Chair regular Camp Management meetings with Camp Bosses and relevant Contractor representatives.
- Work collaboratively with EPC Contractors, Subcontractors, Camp Operators and industrial-city stakeholders to establish consistent standards and resolve operational issues.
- Support worker welfare initiatives, including Camp Welfare Committees, Food Committees and other camp-related forums.
- Coordinate interfaces relating to common camp and site services, including emergency services, security, medical facilities, catering, sewage treatment, water, power, waste management and common amenities.

Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Science, Humanities, Business, Engineering or a related discipline.
- Prior experience within major Oil & Gas projects or large-scale industrial projects.
- Experience in a supervisory or leadership role, including responsibility for Contractor, Subcontractor, service provider or vendor personnel.
- Significant experience in camp operations and maintenance within a major project environment.
- Previous experience in a senior camp operations position, preferably as a Camp Boss, Camp Manager or equivalent.
- Experience working within large-scale operating or project organisations.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of HACCP and international food safety requirements.
- Proven ability to lead teams and influence a diverse community of Contractors, Subcontractors, Vendors and project stakeholders.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- Strong planning, organisational and prioritisation skills.
- Excellent negotiation, influencing and stakeholder-management capabilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
