We are seeking a staff GIS Analyst for our Aberdeen based Oil & Gas operator client.

Responsibilities will include:
Create, maintain and organise geographical information for company business areas including Geosciences, Operations & Projects, Strategy & Business and (Health, Safety &) Environment.
Support colleagues involved in the production of complex cartographic products for internal and external clients.
Perform searches and produce inventories of relevant geographical information and data.
Maintain and update reference GIS datasets including licensed acreage, fields, basins, wells, seismic survey coverage and operated infrastructure.
Maintain and update vendor (third-party) GIS databases.
Maintain and develop existing automated ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) workflows in place for this purpose.
Support development of data solutions for projects relating to digital transformation, and act as coordinator between different stakeholders (business users, data scientists, data SMEs) to ensure Geoscience and GIS data components are efficiently delivered and maintainable
Develop new use cases for deploying ETL technologies with the purpose of increasing business efficiency. Design new and robust ETL workflows, implement on local and cloud-based infrastructure.
Contribute to the ongoing evolution and optimisation for the cartographic, visualisation and analysis components of the company geographical information environment.
Promote the GIS discipline to the user community, encouraging the correct and appropriate use of technologies and data.

Qualifications & Experience
Degree Qualification in GIS, geomatics or related technical /engineering /software discipline
Experience working in the oil and gas industry, preferably in the E&P domain
Demonstrable knowledge and experience of successful data management
Solid foundation in geospatial programming and automation e.g. Python, Safe FME
Experience preparing and publishing maps and data for consumption in intranet-based GIS applications

Key software competencies:
ESRI ArcGIS Suite including ArcGIS for Desktop (ArcMap)
Safe FME
Proven analytical and communications skills (both written and oral English)
Ability to work independently with minimum supervision and to tight deadlines
Experience documenting standards and procedures relating to GIS
