Job Description: Geotechnical Project Engineer – Onshore Geotechnical & Geophysical Investigations

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically proficient Geotechnical Project Engineer to support onshore geotechnical and geophysical investigation projects. The successful candidate will play a key role in the review, interpretation, and validation of laboratory and in-situ test data, contributing to the development of robust ground models and geotechnical design solutions. This role is ideal for an engineer with a strong academic foundation and hands-on experience in both fieldwork and data analysis.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, supervise, and audit geotechnical and geophysical investigations for onshore infrastructure and energy projects.
• Review and validate laboratory test data for consistency, accuracy, and compliance with project specifications and standards.
• Interpret in-situ test results, including CPT, pressuremeter, dilatometer, and geophysical surveys.
• Collaborate with geophysicists and geotechnical teams to develop integrated ground models.
• Prepare and contribute to Geotechnical Interpretive Reports (GIRs) and Geotechnical Design Reports (GDRs).
• Provide technical support during construction, including foundation reuse assessments, slope stability evaluations, and temporary works design.
• Ensure quality control and health and safety compliance during site and laboratory activities.
• Liaise with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure timely and accurate project delivery.

Required Qualifications

• MSc in Geotechnical Engineering or related field (preferred)
• BSc in Engineering Geology, Civil Engineering, or Geotechnical Engineering (must)
• Relevant certifications

Skills & Expertise

• Strong understanding of soil mechanics, laboratory testing protocols, and in-situ testing techniques
• Proficient in data validation, test boundary condition definition, and interpretation of complex datasets
• Experience with geophysical data integration and ground model development
• Familiarity with relevant geotechnical standards
• Excellent technical writing, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams
