Are you a skilled GIS Technician ready to take on a new challenge in a dynamic onshore operational environment?
We’re seeking an experienced and safety-conscious professional to join our maintenance team to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and safety of high and medium voltage electrical systems across critical assets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) standards; promptly report hazards and incidents.
- Conduct maintenance, repair, and overhaul of Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) and associated High Voltage (HV) and Medium Voltage (MV) equipment.
- Prepare and manage work permits and perform risk assessments for routine and non-routine activities.
- Diagnose faults and perform effective troubleshooting and repairs to minimize downtime.
- Serve as a subject matter expert in GIS and high-voltage systems, providing technical insight and mentoring to team members.
- Supervise contract labor as required, ensuring safety and quality standards are met.
- Participate in Emergency Response Team (ERT) duties as necessary.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Strong maintenance experience in the oil and gas industry, with time focused on Gas Insulated Switchgear.
- Proven experience with safe electrical isolation procedures for systems including 400V, 3.3kV, 33kV, and 132kV.
- Valid IECEx or CompEx certification in hazardous area electrical systems.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical diagrams and P&ID drawings.
- Hands-on experience with Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
