FPSO Technical Safety Engineer
Location: Between 1 and 2 years in Paris, France / up to 18 months in Singapore / up to 18 months in Geoje, South Korea
Start Date: 1st October 2026

The Role
We are seeking an experienced FPSO Technical Safety Engineer to support a major offshore FPSO project through detailed design, procurement, construction, commissioning and integration.
Reporting to the FPSO Technical Safety Lead, you will provide technical guidance to the Engineering Contractor and support the delivery of Safety Engineering activities covering both Topsides and Hull.
The project involves an ultra-deepwater development at approximately 3,000 m water depth, with an FPSO designed to process around 160,000 barrels of oil per day.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Technical Safety Lead in coordinating Safety Engineering activities and deliverables.
  • Review and follow up safety-related engineering documentation, calculations, layouts, safety philosophies and specifications.
  • Ensure compliance with project requirements, international standards, regulatory requirements and classification rules.
  • Coordinate and follow up HAZID, HAZOP, TRA, safety studies and audits.
  • Ensure safety recommendations and action items are effectively closed out.
  • Review technical queries and provide Safety Engineering guidance to the Contractor.
  • Ensure safety and personnel protection requirements are integrated into the design.
  • Interface with Process, Structural, HVAC, Hull, SURF and other engineering disciplines.
  • Participate in design reviews, technical meetings, workshops and constructability reviews.
  • Monitor technical issues, risks, progress and quality, reporting to the Technical Safety Lead.
  • Promote lessons learned and continuous improvement throughout the project.
Requirements
  • 10+ years of professional experience, including at least 8 years in Safety/HSE Design within Oil & Gas.
  • Previous FPSO experience is essential.
  • Strong experience in Technical Safety Engineering and safety studies.
  • Knowledge of HAZID, HAZOP, TRA, risk assessment and ALARP principles.
  • Experience working with Engineering Contractors and multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Proactive, rigorous and able to anticipate and manage technical risks.
  • Comfortable working in an international and multicultural environment.
  • Fluent English; French is an advantage.
