Foreman (Workshop) – Turbochargers
Location: Antwerp, Belgium
On behalf of our client, we are currently seeking an experienced Foreman Workshop to
join the Turbochargers Workshop Department in Antwerp. This is a hands-on
leadership role within a highly technical maritime environment.
About the Role
As Foreman Workshop, you will be responsible for the day-to-day coordination of the workshop team while remaining actively involved in complex technical work. You will ensure operational excellence, safety compliance, and continuous improvement within
the workshop.
Key Responsibilities
• Team Leadership & Planning
Organize, coordinate, and assign daily tasks to workshop engineers, ensuring clear priorities and efficient workflow.
• Hands-on Technical Expertise
Perform and oversee advanced servicing, inspection, overhaul, and repair of turbochargers, including disassembly and reassembly using specialized tools
and machinery.
• Quality, Safety & Compliance
Monitor work progress and inspect completed jobs to ensure adherence to health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
• Troubleshooting & Technical Support
Diagnose faults, resolve technical issues, and provide expert guidance to workshop staff and the Head of Technical.
• Workshop Operations & Improvement
Maintain workshop equipment, manage tools and consumables, and contribute to process improvements to enhance efficiency and reliability.
Working Conditions & Compensation
• Overtime: Paid overtime applicable
• Working hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 17:00
• Annual remuneration: 13.92 months
o 12 monthly salaries
o December bonus
o Holiday allowance (standard Belgian structure)
Requirements
• Proven experience with turbochargers, preferably within a maritime or marine engineering environment
• Strong leadership experience in a technical workshop setting
• Fluent in Dutch (mandatory)
• EU passport required (no work permits provided)
• Valid driver’s license (Category B)
• Must live in the Antwerp area and be currently residing in Belgium (local candidates only)
Location Requirement
This position is based at our site in the Antwerp harbour area. Daily on-site presence is
required.
