Activities:

1. Ensure the Absheron FFD production system can be safely commissioned, started, operated, pigged, shut down and restarted throughout field life while maintaining production, protecting asset integrity, and preventing hydrate, wax and other flow assurance related incidents.
2. Responsible for defining, coordinating, reviewing and validating all flow assurance activities throughout detailed engineering, commissioning, start-up and operations readiness. This includes hydraulic, thermal and transient analyses, production system operability, hydrate management, wax management, pigging strategy, slugging assessment, thermal performance, sand transport considerations and production operating envelopes from the subsea wells to the CPF.
3. Review and challenge Contractor studies and simulation models, ensure consistency across wells, subsea systems, pipelines, CPF and MEG facilities, maintain the Flow Assurance Dossier, and provide technical assurance for flow assurance deliverables. The role includes defining operating philosophies, procedures and strategies covering hydrate prevention, wax management, pigging, start-up, shutdown, preservation and restart scenarios, as well as developing mitigation and contingency measures for critical flow assurance risks.
4. Support pre-commissioning, commissioning and start-up activities, including hydrotesting, dewatering, MEG conditioning and hydrocarbon introduction, validate actual field performance against model predictions, and update operating strategies accordingly. The position requires close interaction with Reservoir, Wells, Subsea, Pipeline, Process, Integrity, Operations and Commissioning teams, participation in design and operational readiness reviews, and maintenance of the Flow Assurance Risk Register, ensuring effective management of risks associated with hydrates, wax, slugging, pigging, MEG systems and pipeline restart following extended shutdowns.
The Flow Assurance Engineer reports to the FOPS Methods Leader and shall demonstrate exemplary HSSE leadership while ensuring compliance with company specifications, procedures, standards and applicable international codes.

HSE Responsibilities

• Support and implement the Project HSEQ management system (plans, procedures and specifications).
• Adopt and demonstrate exemplary behaviour about HSEQ rules & requirements, as well Company Ethics & “Code of Conduct” policy.
• Participate in Project reviews and make recommendations based on relevant experience.
• Promote HSE culture within the team and ensure HSE related topics are treated as top priorities in the discipline (Derogation, HAZOP, HAZID, HSE action plan, PRs actions, etc.).
• Ensure HSE standard of Contractors enrolled in maintenance disciplines are in line with TotalEnergies rules & referential.
• Participate and assist in the development and implementation of Environmental management and Energy efficiency System processes.

Authority to suspend activities when there is a potential or actual threat to human life, the installation or the environment, and notify forthwith the responsible supervisor.

Context and environment

The Absheron Conventional Gas & Condensates field is located offshore Azerbaijan Republic in the Caspian Sea in 500 meters depth, at about 100km southeast of Baku, 25km north-east of Shah Deniz field and 34km south of Oil Rocks production and processing facilities. The project aims at supplying natural gas for both domestic market via Sangachal main facilities (condensate) and for international export market via the South Caucasus Pipeline (SCP).

Accountabilities

• Throughout the project phases, contribute to FOPS Flow Assurance philosophy/strategy for all the facilities encompassed within the Project, according to the Project objectives.
• To define all required FOPS contracts/tools that are required to be implemented during project phase and before RFSU.
• Ensure that Flow Assurance strategy is implemented in anticipation to the First Gas and subsequent operations.

To co-ordinate these actions with other Project activities.

Qualifications/Experience required

• Level / Diploma: BA/MA degree in Petroleum Engineering, Process Engineering or equivalent.
• Professional Experience: minimum 10 years in Oil and Gas industry including a minimum of 5 years in Flow Assurance.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills: adept at interaction with variety of contracts, including peers within a multi-disciplinary team, management, vendors and industry partners.
• Other required Competencies: Management of contractors/subcontractors, Strong HSE leadership, Field Operations Oil & Gas facilities.
• Fluent in English.
• Localization: Baku office and CPF site.
