Regional Financial Controller - AMER
Region: Americas
Reports To: Group Financial Controller
Location: Flexible within the East Coast, USA
Our client is a market-leading provider of pre-contract services to the world’s leading contractor organizations.
The Role: Reporting directly to the Group Financial Controller, you will be a pivotal member of our Finance team, taking ownership of all aspects of financial management for the AMER region.
This is an interim poisition and proposed duration is 3-6 months, full-time.
This assignment would be ideal for a qualified Finance Manager/Controller with proven experience in multinational environments, particularly within the Americas.
Your responsibilities will encompass the provision of insightful financial reporting, robust analysis, and strategic advice to the Regional Managing Directors and the Board.
To excel in this role, you will bring exceptional analytical skills, a proactive and initiative-taking approach to problem-solving, and a demonstrable ability to understand business needs and translate them into relevant and impactful financial information.
Key Objectives:
Partner closely with the leadership team to ensure the delivery of accurate and timely accounting information across the AMER region.
Collaborate strategically with regional Managing Directors/CEOs, proactively contributing to strategic planning, budgeting, pipeline management, and forecasting.
Work in partnership with fellow regional Financial Controllers to maintain consistency in approach and deliverables across the organization.
Provide commercially astute support and challenge on the financial aspects of business development, ensuring the reliability of financial outputs.
Oversee the timely production of management accounts for month-end and year-end for each region within AMER.
Support the Board with insightful reports and trend analysis, diligently reviewing balance sheet reconciliations to identify potential risks and opportunities.
Ensure astute cash flow management within the AMER region.
Provide robust exchange rate advice and manage related processes effectively.
Play a key role in the annual budgeting and forecasting processes.
Accurately account for client contracts/projects to assess profitability and cash flow.
Drive continuous improvement in current financial processes and procedures.
Conduct thorough overhead and cost base analysis.
Prepare timely and accurate Finance Board packs by region within AMER.
Qualifications and Experience:
This is an exceptional opportunity for a qualified (CPA/ACA/CIMA/ACCA) finance professional with a proven track record of managing stakeholders effectively.
You will possess the interpersonal skills and experience to quickly build strong partnerships and collaborate seamlessly with geographically dispersed colleagues.
A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in a Financial Controller role, ideally within a multinational organization. CPA, ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified, or qualified by significant relevant experience.
An audit background would be advantageous, providing a strong foundation for process and system analysis.
Demonstrable experience in group/full reporting of financial figures on a weekly, monthly, and annual basis.
A strong understanding of intercompany accounting, international tax, and transfer pricing arrangements.
Proven cash management experience. A proactive “can-do” attitude with a pragmatic approach to problem-solving.
Highly process-oriented with a willingness to amend, improve, and implement processes, and design new ones as needed.
A self-starter with the ability to work independently and drive initiatives forward.
Exceptional Excel skills, including proficiency in VLOOKUPs, Pivot tables, and Macros.
Excellent IT skills, with preferred experience in systems such as SAP Concur, Xero, and Sage 200.
Effective oral and written communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly and concisely.
Highly organized and meticulous in approach, with a strong commitment to continuous improvement.
Experience working in a fast-growing/scale-up environment with multiple entities is highly desirable.
Driven, enthusiastic, and committed to ongoing professional development.
Ability to build strong working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders and work effectively within a team.
Demonstrates a high degree of personal integrity, tact, and discretion.
Strong analytical and commercial acumen, with a keen forensic eye for detail.
