Financial Assistant

REPORTS TO:
Financial Controller

SERVICE DATES:
ASAP – 30.11.2026

Contract work for an energy company.  Canary Wharf. 


MAIN ACTIVITIES:

 
Finance Administration
  • Process all Purchase Orders as required by Finance team and preparation of back up documents
  • Raise invoices and preparation of back up documents to relevant SPVs
  • General administration support to the finance function
 
Compliance and Governance
  • Prepare balance reconciliations and internal controls to be signed off Senior Accountant & Finance Controller
  • Prepare supplier contracts register for all business areas
  • Maintain financial and internal control timetable
  • Support Compliance checks for new suppliers
 
Financial Accounting & Tax
  • Support Statutory accounts process
 
Management Information  
  • Liaise with stakeholders across other departments to aid the efficient accomplishment of daily tasks and build relationships
  • Support Financial Controller for Budget and long term plan process
  • Support the Financial accountant with month end, quarterly and year end accounting process
  • Support the Financial Accountant on Government reporting
 
Accounts Payable (AP) and Receivable (AR)
  • PROCESS POs
  • Support on expense claims made by the team
  • Work with outsourced AP and AR to ensure vendors & SPVs are paid/paying accurately with appropriate controls.
 
Credit:
  • Discuss with SPVS any outstanding amounts.


SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS:
 
Candidate Profile (Mandatory Field):
  • This role requires the ability to adapt to different priorities in a fast moving business environment.
  • Good organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to support different projects simultaneously.
  • Creative, ability to use own initiative and above all a team player.
  • Finance Graduate
  • Demonstrable experience using Microsoft Excel
  • Takes opportunities to improve performance and processes as required
  • Strong communication
