Financial Analyst– Record to Report (RTR) / Intercompany Accounting
Pay Rate: $34–$38/hour (based on benefits selection)
Location: North Chicago, IL or Florham Park, NJ
Work Model: Hybrid – Monday & Friday Remote / Tuesday–Thursday Onsite (required)
Contract Length: 6 months (with potential extension based on performance and business needs)
Schedule: 8 hours/day; additional hours may be required during month-end close
 

Orion Group is hiring for a Financial Analyst- Record to Report (RTR) / Intercompany Accounting position for our multinational pharmaceutical client in North Chicago, IL, OR Florham Park, NJ.
This position is part of the U.S. Finance Shared Services – Record to Report (RTR) Operations organization, which centralizes accounting processes, governance, and controls while driving efficiency across U.S. and global business units.
The Accounting Analyst will support core month-end close activities with a strong focus on intercompany accounting, cash clearing, and bank reconciliations, working closely with Treasury, Global Intercompany Billing (ICB), BPO partners, and other cross-functional stakeholders.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with month-end close activities, including cash clearing, journal entry preparation, and balance sheet review
  • Prepare intercompany billing (ICB) requests for cash-related transactions and perform subsequent cash clearings
  • Coordinate with Global ICB, BPO partners, and Treasury on monthly intercompany netting activities
  • Perform cash clearing for manual intercompany payments and settlements
  • Review monthly intercompany AR and AP aging reports; follow up on aged items and support resolution efforts
  • Perform intercompany out-of-balance analysis and assist in resolving discrepancies
  • Research and resolve uncleared cash items by coordinating with internal teams to identify payment ownership
  • Prepare bank-related open item reconciliation reports
  • Maintain bank clearing documentation, including tracking payment postings and key contacts
  • Support SOX, Tax, and Audit requests, including internal and external audits and intercompany billing documentation
 
Top Skills & Experience Required
  • Strong accounting knowledge with relevant hands-on experience
  • SAP experience (required)
  • Advanced Excel skills, including data analysis with large transaction volumes
  • Account reconciliations, with a strong focus on intercompany transactions
  • Bank reconciliations and cash clearing experience
 
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 1–3 years of accounting experience (shared services or corporate accounting preferred)
  • CPA or MBA a plus
  • Prior exposure to treasury activities and intercompany transactions preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines, especially during month-end close
  • High attention to detail with strong organizational, communication, and presentation skills
  • Ability to effectively collaborate and communicate across all levels of the organization
