Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM (Hybrid)



Orion Group is hiring a Financial Analyst II to support our pharmaceutical clients' Business Operations and Development Science teams within their R&D organization.
The Financial Analyst will be responsible for creating, maintaining, and enhancing financial planning and reporting tools for the Development Science (Dev Sci) function. This role will play a key part in supporting a newly established Aesthetics Device function within R&D, including cost forecasting, purchase order (PO) tracking, and financial reporting.
The Financial analyst will partner closely with cross-functional stakeholders, including Finance, Development Science leadership, and CMC teams, to deliver accurate and timely FP&A insights that support R&D business objectives and collaboration requirements.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Build, own, and maintain the gating (gaiting) file for the Aesthetics Device function, including cost forecasting, assumptions, and PO tracking
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to gather inputs, validate assumptions, and ensure financial accuracy
  • Support the Senior Manager in maintaining and updating the gating file for all CMC programs
  • Lead monthly and quarterly financial calls with Finance and Development Science leadership to align on forecasts and financial outlooks
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to develop and implement a new reporting structure and timeline for the evolving Dev Sci function
  • Deliver FP&A analysis, reporting, and insights to support R&D business development and collaboration initiatives
  • Lead or contribute to ad hoc financial analysis, special projects, and process improvement initiatives as needed
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field
  • 3–5 years of financial analysis experience, preferably in a corporate or matrixed environment
  • Advanced Excel skills (financial modeling, forecasting, pivot tables, formulas)
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively and partner with business stakeholders at all levels, including senior leadership
  • Comfortable leading calls and presenting financial information clearly and concisely
Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)
  • Previous pharmaceutical or biotech experience, particularly within R&D environments
  • Familiarity with R&D or Development Science terminology
  • Prior FP&A experience, including forecasting, variance analysis, and reporting
