Our client is a North Sea Operator currently recruiting for the position of Field Operations Engineer, based in Aberdeen. 
This is an onshore PAYE contract position that needs a background of carrying out a similar role with an operator or duty holder in the North Sea sector.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Support the Operations Manager, Field Superintendent and OIM's as required.
  • Interact and collaborate closely with offshore leadership team, CROs etc to support safe and efficient operations on Mariner.
  • Interact and collaborate closely with maintenance team to ensure prioritisation of safety and production critical maintenance.
  • Monitoring plant performance and debottlenecking to maximise production efficiency.
  • Troubleshooting issues that are highlighted from offshore or identified through production deviations.
  • Responsible for loss prevention - ensuring level of urgency on onshore support / follow up is understood across the departments.
  • Prioritising of production critical equipment breakdowns and system/process outages.
  • Ensure process operating parameters are kept up to date in live Production tracking dashboard
  • Manage experience transfer across the field to ensure best practice and lessons are learned.
  • Utilising process simulator to evaluate process improvements and model future operating scenarios incorporating proposed projects, where applicable.
  • Ensuring processes comply with safety and quality standards.
  • Be involved in relevant risk assessments.
  • Support Energy & Production Optimisation Group where required; process optimisation scenarios, holiday cover, troubleshooting, etc.
  • Suggest potential modifications to reduce costs and improve production rates.
  • Contributing to managing Root Cause Analysis (RCA) portfolio with focus on longer term improvement actions.
  • Development of business cases for medium to longer term asset improvement projects
  • Assistance with Emissions Reduction Action Plan (ERAP) project portfolio, including prioritisation of projects and progressing to closure.
  • Assistance with modification portfolio from draft through to Decision Gate Meetings
  • Assistance with technical queries from draft to close out.
  • Support for vendor mobilisation for production critical activities such as flushing, N2 leak testing, etc.
  • Interface closely with the Well Integrity TA to ensure the condition of wells is clearly understood and risk levels are visible and managed.
  • Support HAZOPS/HAZID’s as required.
 
Experience & Qualifications:
  • Relevant experience in hydrocarbon extraction activities
  • Experience in frontline operations support; production, maintenance & subsurface
  • Preferable, but not essential, to have experience in an offshore position
  • Engineering degree / relevant knowledge and experience
  • Excellent collaboration and communications skills are essential
  • Adaptable and dynamic approach required to support frontline operations
  • Adaptable to change
