We have a fantastic new opportunity for a seaspmed Field Material Coordinator for a contract assignment supporting a large EPC construction project in the Edmonton, AB area. This role operates in an Owner Representative capacity, providing site level oversight of material procurement, logistics, inventory control, and construction material readiness. The successful candidate will have proven experience on major EPC projects, strong discipline in material management systems, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced construction environment. This is a site-based contract role best suited to hands on material professionals with EPC project experience who understand the impact of material readiness on construction execution.
Key Responsibilities include:
• Coordinate the receipt, storage, control, and issuance of construction materials and equipment at site.
• Interface with EPC contractors and suppliers as an owner side representative, ensuring material management compliance and readiness.
• Track material deliveries, inventory levels, and consumption to support construction schedules.
• Inspect incoming materials for quality, quantity, and specification compliance.
• Identify and resolve material issues including shortages, damages, and shipment discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate site material records, reports, and inventory updates.
• Utilize and support Smart Materials, SAP (MM), and RFID based material tracking systems.
• Coordinate material handling, laydown areas, and storage activities to ensure safety and efficiency. Communicate material status, risks, and constraints to construction, engineering, and procurement teams.
Requirements needed:
• Demonstrated experience supporting large EPC construction projects in industrial, energy, oil & gas, or infrastructure environments.
• Experience working in an Owner Representative or owner side oversight role.
• Strong knowledge of construction material commodities including piping, structural steel, mechanical equipment, electrical, instrumentation, and bulk materials.
• Hands on experience with material management systems (Smart Materials, SAP, Jovix RFID).
• Ability to work independently on site with minimal supervision.
Qualifications:
• Degree or diploma in Project Management, Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience.
• Strong organizational and coordination skills in a site-based project environment.
• Clear communicator with the ability to work across multiple contractor and project interfaces.
• Contract professionals with prior project completion experience preferred.
• Must be able to (and legally) work on site/field in the Edmonton, AB area as per M-F and/or contract.
• Have a valid driver’s license
