Job Title: Facilities Technician

Location: Greenock, Scotland

Shifts: 2 weeks day shift / 2 weeks night shift on a rotational basis

Salary: Competitive basic salary DOE plus benefits package.

Contract: Permanent

Orion Group's client is a market leader in their field. With multiple sites across the world, our client operates in a fast-paced environment and as a result, they are now looking to a recruit a Facilities Technician, based at the Greenock site.

About the role:

Reporting into the Facilities and Operational Manager and operating as part of the wider facilities function, your role as a Facilities Technician will be a very busy and challenging one. You will be expected to perform a variety of tasks in an ever changing and fast paced working environment. As a Facilities Technician, your key responsibilities and measurables in the role will include:

  • Carrying out repairs, maintenance and monitoring plant systems and equipment.
  • Operation of safety systems and procedures while implementing them as required.
  • Should be able to demonstrate good problem solving methodology to correct and prevent equipment faults.
  • Will actively participate in cross-functional team activities.
  • Will be familiar with procedures and practices related to working within industrial plant rooms and workshops.

Qualifications/Experience

  • Pipefitting / plumbing experience with emphasis on plastic and steel pipework fabrication and repair.
  • Time served and have an ONC / HNC / C&G or an equivalent qualification in engineering.
  • Candidate must be willing to learn and open to multi-skilling on various site Facilities systems operational requirements.
  • In this role you will be required to work a 42 hour week on a rotating shift basis.
