Our Oil & Gas Operator client is currently recruiting for the position of Facilities Manager in Aberdeen for an initial 12-month period.
What we are seeking:
Ideally you will have worked in a Senior Building/Office Facilities role, supporting all aspects of office and grounds services, maintenance.
Preferably you will be based in the Aberdeen area
Happy to consider a 12 month contract role.
Role Purpose:
The Facilities Manager is responsible for ensuring the effective operation, maintenance, and safety of buildings, infrastructure, and workplace services. The role supports business operations by maintaining a safe, efficient, environmentally responsible and compliant workplace.
The Facilities Manager will lead the delivery of facilities management services across the company’s onshore real estate portfolio, ensuring flexible, efficient, and innovative solutions that respond to evolving business needs. The portfolio comprises traditional office accommodation in the UK and the Netherlands, in addition to a gas production terminal in Shetland.
Working closely with local office managers in each location, the Facilities Manager will provide robust governance and ensure consistent application of compliance standards, while identifying and maximising commercial opportunities.

Main Tasks:
Strategic
- Deliver a strategic plan which outlines all company onshore real estate and obligations, including compliance obligations and commercial opportunities
- Assess environmental considerations across the real estate portfolio and identify and implement opportunities for optimisation, including developing an energy efficiency strategy
Commercial
- Manage lease, rent and rates and service contracts in a timely manner and to ensure best value
- Oversee day-to-day operations of buildings and facilities through relevant office managers
- Manage planned and reactive maintenance programmes
- Oversea and co-ordinate commercial contracts for service providers (e.g. cleaning, security, maintenance)
- Prepare and control facilities budgets and identify cost-saving opportunities, e.g. utilities
- Working with the relevant office managers, plan office layouts, refurbishments, and relocations
Compliance
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations
- Management of outsourced shared service delivery partners to ensure all services are delivered in compliance with contractual, statutory, and health and safety standards.
Stakeholder Management
- key focal point with stakeholders to ensure facility management and services are delivered to fulfil local requirements - meeting regularly with business managers and reviewing contract KPI’s
- Supervise maintenance resources and coordinate internal stakeholders
- Develop long-term facilities strategies and sustainability initiatives
- Audit Support - Asset Management audit, KPI auditing and reporting
- Management of real estate - supporting the delivery, budgeting, tracking and reporting process
- Delivery and tracking of savings against identified property initiatives
- Manage purchase order raising and invoice approvals process with office managers
- Scoping, design, budgeting, cost control and management of small changes, refurbishment and repairs
- Management and reporting of occupancy information to deliver data to inform demand planning
Professional/Educational Requirements:
Essential:
- Facilities Management experience including adherence to building management processes and effective management of service providers.
- Project Management and total Integrated Facility Management concepts beneficial.
- Certifications such as Institute of Workplace and Facilities Management or NEBOSH are advantageous.
Essential
- Effective engagement and communication skills to work across multiple stakeholders
- Ensures compliance with governance, standards, policy and process. Demonstrates understanding of all current HSE legislation in applicable locations.
- Strong financial and commercial awareness to manage budgets and drive value.
