Fabrication HSE Advisor

We have a current opportunity for a Fabrication HSE Advisor on a contract basis until November 2026 (with the possibility of extension).
The position will be based in Middlesbrough, North East England, representing a leading renewables operator at their supplier's fabrication site.

Role Summary:
The HSE Advisor supports the Package Management and operator’s Fabrication Team in implementing the HSE strategy and objectives at the supplier’s site. This role ensures planned HSE activities are structured, managed, and effectively executed throughout the project.

Success Criteria:
  • Reduction in TRIR and NCR among fabrication suppliers
  • Timely implementation of Supplier Improvement and Assurance Activity Plans
  • Achievement of project milestones
  • Supplier performance aligned with operator’s HSE objectives
Key Responsibilities:
Aligned with the “Execute QHSE Assurance Plan – Fabrication” process:
  • Ensure supplier compliance with operator’s HSE contractual requirements
  • Plan and conduct risk-based assessments
  • Provide HSE support to operator’s Package and Fabrication Teams
  • Monitor and drive Supplier HSE Improvements and Assurance Plans
  • Report on supplier HSE performance
  • Coordinate operational HSE efforts and promote a strong safety culture
Tasks:
  • Review supplier HSE documentation (e.g., HSE plans, risk assessments)
  • Advise on HSE strategy and priorities
  • Execute and track the Supplier HSE Activity Plan
  • Perform supplier assessments and ad-hoc evaluations
  • Conduct site inspections to verify compliance
  • Maintain HSE records and reporting in Synergi
  • Support incident investigations and follow-up actions
  • Participate in supplier audits, readiness checks, and key project meetings (e.g., HIRA, FAI, TOC)
  • Initiate communication notes for non-compliance issues
  • Develop site-specific HSE guidelines and conduct safety inductions
  • Review and follow up on supplier reporting
  • Provide bi-weekly HSE updates to stakeholders
Deliverables:
  • Documentation review and follow-up
  • Meeting participation and risk workshop involvement
  • On-site presence and inspections
  • Case entry and data management in Synergi
  • Ongoing updates to QHSE Assurance Plan
  • Escalation of critical issues
  • Supplier performance reporting
Requirements:
  • IOSH or NEBOSH certification (General or Construction Certificate minimum)
  • NEBOSH Diploma preferred
  • 5+ years in industrial manufacturing, ideally in fabrication
  • 10+ years in QHSE management
  • Experience in incident investigation and root cause analysis
  • Knowledge of local HSE regulations
  • Valid training: Work at Height (e.g., GWO), First Aid, and medical clearance
  • Fluent in English
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and motivational skills
