Overview
Orion Group is seeking an ESG Project Manager II to support our pharmaceutical client’s ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) initiatives, specifically focused on Scope 3 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and supplier sustainability.
This role will play a critical part in enhancing ESG data quality, supporting regulatory compliance (including CSDDD), and driving cross-functional initiatives to advance sustainability goals and science-based targets.

Overview
Orion Group is seeking an ESG Project Manager II to support our pharmaceutical client’s ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) initiatives, specifically focused on Scope 3 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and supplier sustainability.
This role will play a critical part in enhancing ESG data quality, supporting regulatory compliance (including CSDDD), and driving cross-functional initiatives to advance sustainability goals and science-based targets.
Key Responsibilities
Scope 3 Data & Process Enhancement
- Improve the completeness, accuracy, and transparency of Scope 3 GHG emissions data in alignment with GHG Protocol standards
- Support development and documentation of Scope 3 calculations and relevancy assessments
- Pilot and support supplier data collection initiatives to gather emissions data
- Establish and enhance governance, controls, and documentation for repeatable processes
- Partner with Procurement, Finance, Supply Chain, ESG, and other stakeholders to drive data accuracy and engagement
- Support cross-functional initiatives to improve supplier sustainability participation and reporting
- Collaborate on internal training and stakeholder engagement efforts
- Assist in preparing for Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD) requirements
- Partner with ESG, Legal, and Procurement to support development and implementation of human rights policies
- Help ensure supplier compliance with sustainability and human rights expectations
- Support initiatives aimed at achieving science-based targets, including increasing supplier participation in sustainability programs
- Contribute to action plans that drive long-term ESG and supplier sustainability improvements
Qualifications
- 5–7+ years of experience in ESG, sustainability, procurement, or related fields
- Hands-on experience with GHG accounting (including Scope 3 categories)
- Experience working with or engaging suppliers on sustainability initiatives
- Strong ability to work in cross-functional, matrixed environments
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Experience influencing stakeholders without direct authority
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with ESG regulations such as CSDDD
- Experience supporting science-based targets or sustainability reporting initiatives
- Passion for sustainability and corporate responsibility
