Role Overview
Join a dynamic and project-oriented team to play a central role in environmental assessment processes for Denmark’s critical offshore wind construction projects. As an Environmental Specialist, you will handle environmental feasibility studies, manage regulatory permits, and coordinate assessments for offshore facilities. You will work in a strong professional environment focused on knowledge sharing, collaborating closely with project managers, authorities, consultants, and stakeholders such as fishermen, citizens, and international partners.

Key Responsibilities
• Permit Acquisition: Apply for and secure necessary permits for feasibility studies and the establishment of offshore wind facilities.
• Environmental Assessments: Conduct and coordinate environmental assessments for plans and specific projects, including public phases, meetings, consultations, and Espoo processes.
• Professional Input: Provide expert assessments and input on technical and environmental conditions as an integrated part of project development.
• Project Collaboration: Participate in planning and environmental work, focusing on time, finances, quality, and strong teamwork within the project group.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the voice of the project, maintaining close dialogue with stakeholders (e.g., fishermen, citizens, authorities) and building bridges in complex contexts.
• Contract Management: Manage contracts and quality-assure consultancy services.
• International Coordination: In projects with international connections, handle dialogue and coordination with foreign partners regarding route studies, feasibility studies, and regulatory processes.
• Project Management Support: Work closely with project managers, authorities, and consultants to ensure smooth progress and compliance.

Qualifications and Experience
• Education: Higher education with a strong interest in environmental aspects of the sea.
• Experience:
    o Proven experience with environmental assessments at sea.
    o Basic knowledge and hands-on experience with environmental assessment processes and permits for offshore projects.
    o Familiarity with marine feasibility studies prior to establishing offshore facilities is a plus.
    o Experience with electromagnetic fields, the Water Framework Directive, or Natura 2000 at sea is advantageous but not required.
• Legislative Knowledge: Good understanding of relevant legislation and the ability to apply it in complex project settings.
• Skills:
    o Familiarity with standards and methods for offshore environmental work.
    o Comfortable engaging in dialogue with advisors, specialists, and diverse stakeholders.
    o Ability to initiate and drive progress independently and collaboratively.
• Sector Experience: Ideal candidates will have worked within the offshore wind industry.
