Our client is currently recruiting for the position of Environmental Reporting and Data Specialist. This is a 12-month PAYE contract role based in Aberdeen.
The Environmental Reporting & Data Specialist is responsible for delivering internal and external environmental reporting and data expertise to the business, partners and regulators to support the company licence to operate. This role works closely with operations, projects, HSSE and various LT’s to ensure
environmental data integrity, performance and risks are understood and solutions optimised.

The Environmental Reporting & Data Specialist is responsible for delivering internal and external environmental reporting and data expertise to the business, partners and regulators to support the company licence to operate. This role works closely with operations, projects, HSSE and various LT’s to ensure
environmental data integrity, performance and risks are understood and solutions optimised.
Key tasks /responsibilities:
- Managing the collection, analysis, interpretation and presentation of environmental datasets using the NEMS data platform to delivery compliance objectives.
- Support NEMS build and the generation of NEMS Panorama reports for the company.
- Responsible for analysing data, predicting future trends and deriving useful insights to share with the business.
- Lead the preparation of detailed reports and present findings to key business partners to support informed decision making about environmental performance.
- Responsible for ensuring ‘one version of the truth’ for pan asset data and supporting alignment on associated key risk areas”
- Analyse and interpret environmental data to gain key insights on business performance and compliance status.
- Lead and deliver multiple environmental reports and regulatory submissions on time (EEMS returns via NEMS data platform, PRTR exercise)
- Consult with Environmental Discipline, business and LT’s to understand the context of the data and support improvement solutions
- Identify trends and patterns in environmental data to predict future issue or developments
- Maintain data integrity in NEMS in alignment with regulations/ support licence to operate
- Support the business during company audits or regulatory inspections (ISO14001, ETS verification, OPRED, NSTA)
- Identify and socialise emerging legislation to be reflected in data reporting (OEUK forum attendance)
- Support the delivery of multiple environmental permits and consents (e.g. PPC permit, OPPC, waste, OCR, ETS)
- Maintain data integrity in NEMS through data loading and QAQC in alignment with UK regulations and support of license to operate
- Monthly reporting and QA/QC of environmental datasets
- Delivering accurate and timely partner reporting
- Support the delivery of the Annual Environmental statement (AES)
- Contribute to asset BPR’s and undertake bespoke data analysis to support improvements
- Provide Environmental data expertise and guidance to facility modifications / projects and other discipline deliverables
- Champion environmental performance improvements via dataset integrity and the company values
Skills, experience & attributes of candidate:
- Significant experience in an Environmental Specialist or data analyst role in O&G Operator role
- Degree in an environmental, data/reporting or sustainability discipline
- Proven experience delivering environmental data solutions to operational facilities and greenfield/brownfield projects.
- Detailed knowledge of UKCS oil and gas legislation and working knowledge of corporate reporting regulations and sustainability reporting frameworks
- Familiarity with the application of relevant reporting standards
- Excellent communication skills and ability to liaise across multiple stakeholders (both onshore and offshore) and with senior leadership
