Orion Group are recruiting an Engineering Technician on behalf of our Multinational Pharmaceutical Client on a 3 month Contract based in Liverpool.

Job Summary

Ensure effective management and ownership of departmental improvement and development programs are achieved and operational decisions made and executed in a timely manner in order to meet department and site objectives. To effectively manage operational issues through use of improvement techniques and problem solving skills to enhance departmental performance and compliance

Required to perform a broad range of varied planned and unplanned maintenance activities that support the overall team and business objectives. To implement engineering solutions that support completion of CAPA's or Operational Excellence initiatives that improve the overall performance of the equipment aligned with the site maintenance and reliability strategy

Operate with a degree of autonomy, once relevant training is completed and be flexible across the Secondary Manufacturing area, including Formulation, Filling, and Inspection & Packaging

Principle Accountabilities

Deliver engineering support to customers for planned and unplanned maintenance requirements and;

  • Plan and execute routine work
  • Ensure all documentation is completed, accurately in a timely manner and signed by the relevant personnel
  • Ensure compliance with HSE regulations
  • Be aware of and comply with all operating procedures in all operational areas. Support organisational change, process improvements and continuous improvement initiatives. Demonstrate Engineering competency at a level to be able to carry out PPM activity, plus some specialist knowledge in limited areas
  • Complete engineering activities across a range of equipment in Formulation, Filling, Inspection & Packaging in Secondary Manufacturing
  • Carry out basic coaching and training with peers and Manufacturing personnel
  • Understand, execute and promote a cGMP compliant culture, ensure the highest standards of housekeeping and safety are applied within their own work area and shared work shop are compliant in accordance with the Orange Guide and CFR regulations
  • Deliver departmental objectives and operational decisions made by others are executed in a timely manner
  • Lease with members of their own department to provide and receive support and feedback

Skills & Competencies

  • Must have well-developed interpersonal and communication skills
  • Flexibility and the ability to work under pressure are essential. A positive and proactive approach is needed to aid resolution of issues.
  • Demonstrate a strong collaborative approach and cross functional working
  • High standard of numeracy and literacy are essential together with excellent attention to detail
  • Proven Operational Excellence skills and proven experience in implementing OE systems
