We are seeking an experienced Engineering Lead – Instrumentation to provide technical and discipline support for instrumentation, control and related engineering activities for a major oil & gas project through the integrated FEED and EPC phases.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and coordinate Instrumentation & Control engineering activities in line with project specifications, approved standards, safety and quality requirements.
  • Provide technical direction to EPC contractors and ensure timely delivery of I&C engineering deliverables.
  • Review execution plans, engineering schedules, progress reports, change management recommendations and recovery plans.
  • Coordinate I&C interfaces with multi-discipline engineering teams, vendors and other key stakeholders.
  • Participate in major project assurance and technical reviews, including HAZOP, HAZID, SIL and SAFOP.
  • Support FEED and project execution activities, including relevant project assurance and gate reviews.
  • Provide technical support on discipline standards, technical assurance and standardization activities.
  • Review and endorse technical deviations, waivers and variations within delegated authority.
  • Support commissioning, start-up and troubleshooting activities related to instrumentation, control and telecommunication systems.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.
  • Minimum 8 years of engineering experience, including:
    • At least 4 years in the oil & gas industry.
    • At least 1 year in a supervisory, acting leadership or contractor/vendor oversight role.
  • Experience in project development studies, FEED and detailed engineering.
  • Experience with instrumentation, control and telecommunication systems, including:
    • DCS
    • ESD
    • SCADA
    • Fire & Gas systems
    • Fibre optic and radio communication systems
  • Basic knowledge of Hexagon Smart Plant Instrumentation (SPI).
  • Experience coordinating engineering activities across multiple disciplines and managing engineering contracts.
  • Exposure to commissioning, start-up and troubleshooting of I&C and telecommunication equipment in oil & gas processing facilities.
  • Knowledge of relevant international engineering standards.
  • Strong communication, analytical, problem-solving and organisational skills.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
  • Knowledge of document control and information management processes.
