Our client is a manufacturing company providing products and service to different sectors including Oil & Gas and Marine and requires a Workshop Electrical Tester to join their team

Main responsibilities:

Test all manufactured control panels, or other equipment as necessary, which includes familiarising with the specification to establish:

Panel physical dimensions , colour, components used, cable and crimp type etc are compliant with specification.

The required operation of the system being controlled to ensure logical operation is correct and equipment ratings are adequate.

Prepare item for testing i.e. Connect required test simulation equipment and power supplies as required.

Test item using a set of (For Test) Electrical Drawings and FAT Document.

Set-up any item which requires Parameter setting i.e. Inverters, UPS, etc.

Going on-line to any PLC, HMI or PC to downloading the required software for that project.

Raise issues with design engineers which you consider require changes or clarification, changes to design are only undertaken with consent of the responsible design engineer.

Fully Document the Test Procedure and mark up all drawing errors found or changes occurred through testing process.

Responsible for the Health and Safety within the test area.

Upkeep of all test equipment and maintain calibration certificates.

The core work of the Workshop Tester will be on site in Hamilton, on occasions there will be a requirement for testing to be carried out at other company site or on a customer's site, this may be on board a vessel at sea.

Other duties include:

  1. To help within the workshop area including wiring of control panels.
  2. To help within engineering department.
