Electrical Lead Engineer (Commissioning Team) – Milan (Engineering Phase)
Start Date: Early 2026 
Contract Duration: 1 year (renewable)

About the Role
Orion Group is recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Electrical Lead Engineer to join a major onshore project.
The successful candidate will oversee commissioning of electrical systems and equipment during both the engineering and execution phases, ensuring all assets are safely and efficiently handed over to operations in full working order.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate all electrical pre-commissioning and commissioning activities to ensure milestones (MC and RFSU) are achieved safely and on schedule.
  • Manage contractors to ensure compliance with project specifications and contractual requirements.
  • Actively participate in FATs and support commissioning engineering during the design phase.
  • Coordinate interfaces among contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and project departments.
  • Ensure smooth transition and handover of electrical systems to operations, including coordination during SIMOPS activities.
  • Oversee teams of engineers and technicians during both engineering (Milan) and execution (Afungi) phases.
About You
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum 15 years’ experience in onshore/offshore projects with extensive high-voltage (HV) experience (essential).
  • At least 10 years’ experience in a supervisory capacity leading teams of five or more.
  • Proven track record of commissioning electrical systems and equipment, including HV, MV, LV systems, GTGs, EDGs, and VSDs.
  • Strong coordination, leadership, and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders across international environments.
