Electrical Engineer - Offshore Wind

My client is a is a growing, European renewable and sustainable energy company, they are expanding their portfolio of projects and they grown their team significantly in recent years.

Job Purpose

Providing power systems engineering input to an Offshore Wind Farm Project, with an opportunity to become involved in other Company power generation projects and operating assets.

Responsibilities

* Ensure that safety by design is applied considering the engineering, construction, operational and decommissioning phases; and that health and environmental issues are considered at all stages of the engineering process;

* Responsible for technical design, scoping, review and management of the offshore and onshore substations;

* Responsible for the technical design, scoping and review of unlicensed connection works;

* Responsible for the technical management of the wind farm overall system design (i.e. studies, protection, SCADA, etc.)

* Develop the overall commissioning strategy/process for the wind farm and assets;

* Electrical point of contact for detailed interface management between transmission works package, WTG substructure and array cable (marine works) package and WTG package;

* Responsible for technical design, scoping, review and management of the export cables and wind farm array cables

* Point of contact with NGET on compliance/connection matters

* Main point of contact with Transmission Works Package Manager for administration of the contract

Knowledge and Experience Required

* Familiarity with UK and preferably European electrical codes and standards;

* Demonstrable experience in the engineering design process of offshore wind farms;

* Degree qualified Chartered Engineer

* Proficient user of of MS Office systems and other IT based project management software

* Good technical, interpersonal and organisational skills;
