Position: Electrical & Automation Engineer
Position Info:
Work Location: Base Office (30 km away from the city centre)
Position Schedule: ASAP, 12 months (renewable)
Qualifications & Experience:
Education: Higher education
Years of Working Experience: Min 3 years of experience in a similar role within Oil and Gas
area;
Knowledge of Languages: English (fluent), Azerbaijani (fluent)
Other Skills/Certificates Required:
Capability to perform electrical system calculations and studies
Capability to monitor and control the engineering progress and schedule
Responsibilities:
• Capability to perform electrical maintenance activities as per work instruction and
provided guidelines
• Capability to organize and prepare a worksite, including but not limited to tooling
selection, scope of work review, HSE analysis and workflow reporting
• Knowledge of electrical systems. Capability to carry out electrical inspections and
maintenance and analyse electrical breakdowns
• The Engineer executes the activities within the area of responsibility, ensuring the
compliance with the QA/QC and HSE requirements
Tasks include:
• Development Technology know how and Commercial support - Provide technical
support;
• Feasibility - Provide technical support
Bidding phase/Commercial proposal development
• Analyse and understand Tender documentation
• Take part in electrical system design review
• Identify technical queries, deviations an d alternatives to be submitted
• Implement bidding methodologies, design criteria and guidelines
• Define and issue request for quotation and relevant Technical Bid Tabulation for items
not estimated in house
• Coordinate material quantities and weights (MTOs) estimation
• Prepare bill of quantities for erection works cost estimation
• Support Electrical Lead to define manhours estimation
Project Execution (Job progress and completion)
• Review Client technical documentation and requirements
• Take part in definition of electrical engineering requirements
• Prepare Project design criteria for electrical system
• Define the configuration of the electrical system and the single line diagram
• Perform electrical system calculation and studies (e.g. power demand, load flow, short
circuit, transient stability, motor starting) to define the equipment rating
• Prepare relay and metering schemes, protective relays coordination study and setting
tables
• Define the functional philosophies for the electrical system control (power management,
synchronization, load shedding, reacceleration and restarting) and control system
architecture
• Prepare technical documentation (e.g. specifications, data sheets) for electrical
equipment and materials
• Check and review technical documentation according to Project and Company
procedures
• Prepare Purchase Requisitions and bids technical evaluation
• Perform check and review of Vendor technical documentation
• Provide technical support to Procurement in purchasing and to Post order in expediting
and testing
• Develop electrical system plant design (e.g. cable routings, grounding) and substations
arrangements
• Perform power cables sizing
• Define typical installation details, bulk materials selection and take off (MTOs
• Define bill of quantities and prepare technical documentation for electrical system
installation
• Define technical procedure for electrical system testing and energization
• Construction and start up
• Fully adhere, at all times and irrespective of the work place, to Company Health, Safety,
Environmental and Quality (HSEQ) policies, procedures and requirements;
• Perform other related duties as assigned by Superior.
