Orion Group are delighted to be working with a well known organisation with offices spanning across the UK and Europe you will be based in Leeds site and we are looking for for an experienced Credit Controller who is used to working in a professional services/ IT environment. Credit Control are an integral part of the overall Finance team based in the Head Office and provides a support service to clients, suppliers and fee earners across the business.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Must be efficient in the collection client debt. Monitoring the sales ledger ensuring timely and effective collection of all debts by all available communication methods in accordance with company policy and procedures.
  • Relationship management, developing and sustaining positive customer and company relationships to ensure smooth running of the accounts end encourage timely payments.
  • Daily uploads, allocation and recording of multi-currency receipts, reconciliation of accounts.
  • Pick up, address and resolve customer queries and disputes in a timely manner to ensure an accurate account
  • Set up new accounts whilst checking credit records and limits and maintaining clients records.
  • Issue monthly statements
  • Control and understand aged debt, ensuring collection process is appropriately escalated as far as commencement of the legal process
  • Undertake reviews of customers, assessing risk and making decisions based upon this before opening accounts
  • Bad Debt Provisioning- Undertake and make appropriate recommendations for monthly provisions
  • Participating in regular office finance meetings and individual fee earner debt review meetings
  • Supporting the Credit Control, Accounts Department, Credit Manager and Finance Director in whatever way reasonable to advance the success and profitability of the business.

Experience, Qualifications and Skills required:

  • Experience as a Credit Controller, preferably in a professional environment
  • Experience in assessing credit and risks associated with credit and make recommendations to the business
  • Able to undertake collections in a professional and customer focused manner
  • Experience working with a multi-currency ledger and allocating cash accordingly
  • Ability to organise own workload and ensure thorough coverage of accounts.
  • Able to resolve complex queries & communicate at a professional level.
  • A Credit control qualification would be beneficial but not essential
  • As an international business European language skills are welcome
