Cost Engineer Assistant

Our client is currently recruiting for the position of Assistant Cost Engineer based in Aberdeen’s West End.
 
The client is open to candidates either seeking full-time work or even part-time (3 days per week)  
 
This is a 12-month initial contract but the role is likely to be ongoing/indefinite in nature.
 
DUTIES


Provide support to Cost Engineer and the Project Teams responsible for delivering Repair Orders, Facilities Engineering and Fabric Maintenance scopes.  Working as part of the Project Controls Team accountable for maintaining a rigorous control environment including:  Cost estimating, Cost reporting, invoice review and general support services to the Projects.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Provide support for project-wide cost estimating, cost forecasting, cost control, trend and cost
   reporting services (including owner and partner management reporting) for facilities modification scopes.
  • Work closely with technical teams to understand facilities modification project scopes and ensure accurately
   captured.
  • Control, understand and reflect impact of project change
  • Provide monthly VOWD to Finance
  • Liaise with contractor’s cost control staff to ensure accurate cost tracking, reporting and invoicing, suggesting
   process enhancements when required.
 
 
Experience & Qualifications:
 
Oil and gas background (0-3 years) ideally within an Operator business in project cost controls <£5MM.
Knowledge of budgeting and forecasting.
Knowledge of cost reporting and analysis.
Basic analytical skills with ability to assess project cost and identify gaps and risks.
Proficient in managing data, interpreting and analysing trends.
Good general working knowledge of SAP (or complex similar accounting system).
Degree qualified in an appropriate technical or commercial discipline.
