About the Role My client, a leading renewable energy business, is seeking a Cost Engineer to join their dynamic team. This role will play a key part in supporting the financial management of solar and energy projects, ensuring cost efficiency, accuracy, and compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
You will collaborate with project managers, engineers, and finance teams to provide robust cost control, forecasting, and reporting, helping to drive the successful delivery of large-scale renewable projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, monitor, and maintain project cost reports and forecasts.
- Track actual costs against budgets, highlighting variances and providing analysis to project stakeholders.
- Support project teams in developing cost estimates for new and ongoing projects.
- Ensure compliance with internal cost management processes and procedures.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly project reviews, cash flow forecasts, and performance reports.
- Work closely with procurement and commercial teams to monitor contractor and supplier costs.
- Provide recommendations to improve cost efficiency and identify potential risks or savings opportunities.
- Proven experience as a Cost Engineer, Cost Controller, or similar role in engineering, energy, or infrastructure projects.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Proficiency in cost management tools, and Microsoft Excel.
- Understanding of project management principles and the financial aspects of engineering projects.
- Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong organisational skills and ability to work to tight deadlines.
