We are seeking a Cost Controller/Engineer with experience of costing within a Wells or Drilling environment. This is an immediate 12 month contract position starting asap.

Key experience sought:
Currently working at or recently working as a Cost Controller/Engineer, preferably within an Operator or Tier 1 service company.
Ideally experience of Well Cost Reconciliation

Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
Prepare annual and project budgets in line with the agreed decommissioning plans
Prepare budget book with detailed assumptions documented
Prepare cost re-forecasts each quarter in line with updated decommissioning plans in consultation with the budget holders
Prepare summary of key changes from original budget and previous forecasts
Run scenarios as directed by management to assess options and impacts with respect to costs from changes in scope or execution
Challenge the assumptions and information provided for preparation of budgets & forecast
Ensure that all of the commitments are accurately and correctly reported, including checks for purchase requisitions and invoice approvals
Ensure cost tracking report reflects those reported in the accounting system
Report any costs incurred without commitment
Support the development and implementation of a cost control culture with the Asset
Develop appropriate Cost Breakdown Structures to support decommissioning requirements
Identify areas for cost efficiency and reduction
Utilise cost tracker in reviewing invoices to identify invoice errors
Provide Value of Work done for each cost category in line with the monthly accounting timetable
Prepare/support monthly cost report highlighting variations from budget and revised forecasts
Prepare end of well reconciliations in line with industry best practice
Prepare Wells Cost Close-out reports
Prepare lessons learnt on wells cost management

Qualifications & Experience:
Significant, relevant experience in Wells cost control in a similar role for an Operator or in a duty holder organisation
Superior technical knowledge and application of cost control and associated systems
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Knowledge of Workmate & AX would be advantageous
