Our client, an international EPC company, require a Contracts Manager for the below role based in the South of England.

Job Description

* To support a project with contractual and commercial oversight over the relevant contractual and commercial project functional groups to ensure contract compliance, overall commercial integrity and timely delivery.

* Act as the contract and commercial liaison between the functional groups and the Project Director/Manager in order to provide him or her with factual information and accurate data.

* Provide appropriate support and guidance to the Project Director/Manager and the project team for the effective management and administration of the Prime Contract and interaction with the Client.

* Identifies and communicates all Main Contract requirements and appropriate contract flow-downs for Purchase Orders and Subcontracts.

* Reports directly to the Project Director/Manager who has overall responsibility for delivery of the project within the required cost and schedule constraints.

* The Contracts Commercial Manager receives functional direction and support from the AEA Senior Manager of Contracts who in turn receives direction from the AEA Senior Manager of Project Controls.

* Prime Contract Management Manage all Contracts and commercial aspects of the Project, in liaison with the Project Director/Manager.

* Manage and supervise all Contract project kick-off activities, including Insurance Certificates, Bank Guarantees, Parent Company Guarantees, Contract document review, preparation of Contract summary, Contract required notices Lists, Deliverables lists, Flow down Requirements, and Responsibilities Matrix, which are due in the first 30 days of Contract Award.

* Conduct Contract Review Kick-off meeting with Project team to promote contract awareness and interpretation to support project implementation.

* Develops and implements all relevant project management Contractual and Commercial procedures.

* Maintain appropriate Contract records.

* Primary Project Liaison with Legal and Insurance to provide guidance to Project Director/Manager and Team for any associated issues.

* Prepare all Contractual and commercial correspondence.

* Assists Project Director/Manager and Project Controls Manager in the management of the Project Risk Register Performs all Contract and Commercial management functions for Project Director/Manager

* Takes the lead to develop, manage and negotiate all Project Change/Variation Proposals with the Client, including any disputes or claims (Project Director/Manager is second line of Company Defense).

* This includes evaluating cost and schedule impacts.

* Ensures that project monthly reports reflect an accurate position on all Contract and Commercial issues.

* Manages all contractual and commercial aspects of Project Close-out.

* Change Management: Develop a project Change Management Procedure to ensure that entitlement to additional time and compensation is carefully and appropriately documented and notified to the Client on a timely basis.

* Such procedure shall be reviewed by the Project Controls Manager and approved by the Project Director.

* Directly involved with the Project Director in the preparation and negotiation of Changes to the contract baseline.

* Work with other project team members to identify the Client's actions and/or inactions which could result in contract Changes and assist the Project Director in the resolution with respect to additional compensation and time.

* Review all correspondence for commercial exposure.

* Work closely with the Project Controls Manager to monitor schedule performance and cost trends to identify opportunities for revenue enhancement, schedule relief and risks mitigation.

* Track and follow-up all Client directed or caused Changes in the work, conditions or schedule and the resulting cost or schedule impacts.

* Claims Management: Support the Project Director/Manager in the development and implementation of methodologies to recognize, identify, mitigate and as needed, prepare contra claims as they evolve, as well as actively assisting in the resolution of claims , and the mitigation or prevention/avoidance thereof wherever possible.

* Work with the project team members in the identification, negotiation and resolution of claims with Subcontractors and Suppliers.

* Obtain when required Legal Group participation and direction on claim handling expertise.

Required skills and experience:

* Extensive experience in similar role

* Bachelor's Degree Preferred

* Solid understanding of contract management within an active multinational contract

* International oil & gas EPC company
