Position:         Contracts Engineer
Client:            Global Oil & Gas Major Operator
Duration:        12 month renewable (multi year)
Location:         Esbjerg Denmark

The jobholder is accountable for:
•The implementation of all contracts within their domain in relation to the procurement of goods, materials and services to ensure that the company operational needs are met, taking into account price, quality and delivery, and to ensure continuity of supply.
•All contract activities related to pre-award (tender phase) and post award contract management.

•Demonstrates personal commitment to the Company’s HSE Policy.
•Has 5+ years of experience as a contracts specialist in a relevant industry.
•Ensures that contracts are issued in respect of Company rules, including HSE rules, local procedures and applicable legislation.
•Is responsible for the application and respect of the tendering process in line with internal procedures and external legislation, and ensures that other members of the cross-functional tender team do the same.
•Is responsible for negotiating the terms of the contract (technical, contractual, commercial), during the tender process prior to the award of a new contract and for any subsequent addendum.
•Is responsible for the coordination and performance of the cross-functional tender team, closely working together with the Technical Duet, Contract Owner and other internal clients (e.g. Management, HSE, Finance, Legal, etc).
•Ensures that the tender team have peformed both technical and commercial optimisation reviews in the contracting strategy by applying thorough scope definitions and the implementation of performance indicators, driving efficiency and productivity to maximise all cost reduction opportunities.
•Assesses insurance/liability/commercial risks, and proposes/implements adequate mitigation measures in the contracts.
•Ensures effective contract management, including engagement with company to establish top quartile Key Performance Indicators and to ensure that contractors are achieving HSE, technical, statutory requirements and commercial objectives as defined in the contract.
•Intervenes in the settlement of disputes/claims, in relation to Legal, Insurance, and Finance by proposing negotiation strategies, leading the negotiations and implementing forthcoming actions.

The jobholder must have:
•A university degree level at a master level or equivalent.
•5+ years of professional experience in the oil & gas industry or in similar businesses with proven experience in a technical and/or sourcing function.
•Experience with the economics, accounting, finance, legal and insurance aspects of contracting.
•Commercial awareness, excellent negotiation and communication skills for the management of internal & external stakeholders.
•Knowledge of SAP and MS Suite of applications.
•Languages: fluent in spoken and written English.
