Contracts Analyst

Our client is currently recruiting for the position of Contracts Analyst, based in Aberdeen.  This will be for a long term contract role.

Responsibilities:
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, standards, procedures, and local working practices for operating in the UKCS across the contract life cycle, including Joint Operating Agreements.
  • Develop and manage Contract and Procurement (C&P) Plans.
  • Work with key stakeholders to develop strategies for specific contract requirements, whether for routine operations, discrete work packages, campaigns, or projects.
  • Develop, lead and manage the sourcing activity (e.g. Single Source or Tender).
  • Make recommendations to award of contracts based on detailed quantitative and qualitative evaluation of tenders including assessment of contract risk.
  • Direct commercial and contractual negotiations in accordance with CPEL contract principles, ensuring risk mitigation and commercial optimisation.
  • Develop innovative commercial models to achieve CPEL business objectives.
  • Proactively manage the assigned portfolio of contracts in order to monitor supplier performance, contract compliance, identify and implement value-adds, change management (e.g. VO’s and Amendments), lessons learned and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and maintain good supplier relationships.
  • Identify and develop opportunities to create value, cost reductions and improve service delivery across the business through effective contract management.
  • Provide contractual and commercial advice to the business.
  • Provide support to ensure the timely close-out of any contractual disputes.
  • Provide regular and accurate contract reporting to the business and within SCM.
  • Provide direction to the CPEL business on the applicable C&P standards and processes.
  • Liaise with key business stakeholders (e.g. SME’s including legal, tax, audit, finance, HSE, QA, technical)
  • Contribute to the process of continuous improvement in the contracting process, including the adoption and sharing of best practice. Openly and proactively share knowledge across Supply Chain and wider business teams.
  • Perform other Contracts and Procurement related activities, as required.
 
 
Specific Requirements:
  • Degree in Legal / QS / CIPS, or equivalent.
  • Contracts management experience within a UKCS Operator.
  • Full understanding of current UK contracts and procurement legislation and compliance requirements in terms of Supply Chain.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the UKCS oil and gas supply chain market and supply chain best practice
  • Solid experience of negotiating and working with LOGIC Model Contracts and contracting principles.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage at all levels.
  • Knowledge of information systems such as SAP, and Contracts Management System Ivalua.
  • A proactive and diligent Contracts Analyst who can work independently and as part of a high-performing Contracts Team.
  • Capable of managing a portfolio of high-value contracts and sourcing activities in parallel, delivering to a high standard at all times.
  • A strong negotiator with good influencing and project management skills.
  • Tactful and commercially astute with natural drive and accountability.
  • Capable of managing dynamic business priorities.
  • Someone who takes ownership for the continuous development of personal and technical expertise and knowledge.
