Contracts Specialist
 
Our client a large north sea operator,  is currently recruiting for the position of Contract Specialist, based in Aberdeen. They are looking for a skilled contracting and procurement professional who has previous experience supporting the Information Technology/Information Systems (IT/IS) category.  This a 12-month PAYE contract role.  Hybrid working is available.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Lead and support end-to-end procurement activities across the IT/IS category, including sourcing, tendering, negotiation, and contract award.
  • Support the transition of existing contracts and suppliers into the company IJV structure, including novation, exit, or re-tender strategies
  • Develop and implement category strategies aligned with business objectives and transition timelines
  • Engage with internal stakeholders (Sub Surface, Wells, Asset, Operations & Finance) to gather requirements and define sourcing approaches
  • Manage supplier relationships, ensuring performance, value delivery, and risk mitigation throughout the transition period
  • Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements (e.g. MSAs, SLAs, TSAs where applicable)
  • Ensure compliance with governance, procurement policies, and audit requirements
  • Identify and deliver cost efficiencies and value improvements while maintaining service continuity
 
Experience & Qualifications:
  • Significant experience in Contracting & Procurement, with a strong background in IT/IS.
  • Proven experience in Contracting & Procurement, ideally within IT/IS or technology categories
  • Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, software, and services procurement (e.g. networks, cloud, hardware, managed services)
  • Experience supporting business transitions, mergers, separations, or joint ventures (highly desirable)
  • Strong commercial and negotiation skills with the ability to manage complex supplier arrangements
  • Experience with contract drafting and negotiation, including transitional arrangements such as TSAs
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment with multiple stakeholders
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • Strong understanding of procurement governance and risk management
  • A degree level (Business/Engineering), CIPS, and/or proven long term comprehensive experience within CP.
  • Proven track record of execution excellence & delivering results.
