We are seeking qualified Contract Field Operators to support critical site execution, plant shutdowns, decontamination, commissioning, and post-turnaround startup activities across a premier industrial processing complex near Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta.
This contract position offers an excellent opportunity to gain high-visibility experience across large-scale upgrader, refinery, chemical processing, and carbon capture operations. Successful candidates will collaborate closely with plant operations teams to ensure safe, reliable, and compliant unit execution.

Primary Responsibilities
- Complete site orientation, unit-specific training, and operational qualification milestones within required timelines.
- Perform routine and specialized field operator duties across assigned plant processing units.
- Execute field activities supporting unit shutdowns, system decontamination, equipment isolation, commissioning, and post-turnaround startups.
- Adhere strictly to site safety, environmental, and operational loss-control policies.
- Work variable shift patterns and overtime as dictated by site operational targets and turnaround execution phases.
- Certification: Minimum 4th Class ABSA Power Engineer certification required.
- Experience: Hands-on operational experience within a heavy process, petrochemical, or refining plant environment.
- Safety Certifications: Valid Fall Protection and Confined Space certificates issued by Energy Safety Canada (ESC) or the Alberta Construction Training Institute (ACTI) prior to site onboarding.
- Personal Protective Equipment: Must provide personal Fire-Retardant Clothing (FRC) and 6" CSA-approved safety boots. (Hardhats, safety glasses, gloves, and specialized PPE provided on site).
- Physical Capabilities: Valid driver’s license; physically capable of climbing ladders, working at heights, entering confined spaces, and safely wearing respiratory protection (SCBA/respirators).
- Locality: Must reside within daily commuting distance of the Fort Saskatchewan area or be willing to relocate independently.
