Contract Administrator – Construction Contracts
Location: Grandpuits (77), France
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: 1 year (renewable)

We are seeking an experienced Contract Administrator to support a large industrial project currently under execution in Grandpuits (77). Working closely with the Contract Manager and Project Manager, the Contract Administrator will manage all aspects of construction contract administration and provide essential support throughout the project’s execution phase.

Key Responsibilities Contract Administration & Correspondence
  • Prepare and issue Kick-Off Meeting Minutes for construction contractors.
  • Administer all construction contracts and manage project correspondence.
  • Draft responses to contractor letters and documentation as requested by the Contract Manager/Project Manager.
  • Maintain accurate filing and documentation for all contract-related exchanges.
Variations, Claims & Commercial Support
  • Review contractor Variation Requests/Proposals and verify the contractual validity of supporting documentation.
  • Negotiate contractor claims and requests for compensation.
  • Prepare defence strategies and documentation related to claims.
  • Draft contract amendments/variations for approval.
  • Maintain a weekly Variations Log for all construction contractors.
Performance Monitoring & Contractual Compliance
  • Draft Notices of Default for misperformance or non-performance.
  • Notify contractors of Liquidated Damages (LDs) when instructed by project management.
  • Review pro-forma invoices and validate issuance once contractual milestones are achieved.
  • Maintain an updated weekly invoices Log.
Meetings, Reporting & Documentation
  • Prepare Minutes of Meetings under the Contract Administrator’s scope.
  • Attend project execution meetings as needed.
  • Ensure proper administrative and financial closure of construction contracts at Provisional Acceptance.
  • Maintain contract administration documentation on the project SharePoint.
Education & Qualifications
  • Engineering degree preferred, with 5+ years of experience in contract administration.
  • Fluent in French and English, written and spoken.
Experience & Competencies
  • Proven experience in a construction site environment within an international project team.
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts (Civil Works, Mechanical, E&I, etc.).
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret contract clauses accurately.
  • Extensive experience negotiating variations and claims.
  • Excellent communication skills and strong interpersonal ability.
  • Organised, rigorous, adaptable, and able to manage multiple subjects independently.
