Construction Superintendent (Mechanical)

Job Purpose: Provide front-line safety and technical leadership for the safe, effective, and efficient execution of mechanical package installation activities. Ensure compliance with project schedules, safety, quality, and technical standards.

Key Accountabilities
  • Provide visible safety leadership and instill a safety-first culture.
  • Review/comment on contractor’s technical and non-technical documents.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, standards, and contractual obligations.
  • Apply contractual and technical acumen to resolve schedule and cost issues.
  • Build collaborative relationships with contractors and internal functions.
  • Participate in planning, risk assessments, and schedule mitigation.
  • Ensure daily/weekly contractor walk-throughs and safety checks.
  • Attend workface planning, toolbox talks, and safety meetings.
  • Monitor contractor progress, constraints, and performance reports.
  • Support smooth transition to pre-commissioning and mechanical completion.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Sciences.
Experience
  • Minimum 8 years in large Oil & Gas construction projects, including 1 year in a supervisory/oversight role.
  • Strong background in mechanical construction, installation, hook-up, pre-commissioning, preferably in LNG projects.
  • Hands-on experience with mechanical equipment, piping systems, installation processes, and industry codes.
  • Exposure to oil & gas operators, EPC contractors, or heavy construction firms.
  • Familiarity with design standards, safety codes, and brownfield execution.
Technical & Business Skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PDF).
  • Strong written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to read/interpret AFC drawings, piping fabrication plans, Primavera schedules, Navisworks 3D models.
  • Knowledge of document control systems and advanced work packaging.
  • Understanding of mechanical design codes and safety standards for onshore LNG facilities.
