We are looking for an experienced Construction Lead – Mechanical/HVAC to lead and manage the mechanical and HVAC construction activities for a major Oil & Gas project in Sohar, Oman.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the EPC Contractor and ensuring the safe, efficient, and successful execution of mechanical/HVAC construction activities in accordance with project objectives, specifications, quality standards, and HSE requirements.
 
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage the EPC Contractor's mechanical and HVAC construction activities to ensure safe and successful project execution.
Ensure construction activities meet project objectives related to HSE, quality, schedule, and overall delivery.
Supervise and control Contractor/Subcontractor activities to ensure compliance with contractual requirements, project specifications, and applicable international standards.
Ensure the constructability of engineering deliverables and identify potential construction-related issues.
Coordinate closely with Company, Contractor, Engineering, Operations, and other project stakeholders to resolve technical and construction issues.
Monitor construction progress and identify areas of concern relating to progress, quality, and schedule, recommending corrective actions where required.
Review Contractor progress reports and highlight critical issues, delays, and deviations.
Oversee activities related to Mechanical Completion (MC), Pre-commissioning, and Commissioning, ensuring progress is properly monitored and reported.
Review and provide input on deviations from Company construction standards and project requirements.
Ensure appropriate documentation and dossiers are prepared and maintained, including construction, mechanical completion, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and as-built documentation.
Participate in Risk Assessment, Pre-Job, technical, and coordination meetings as required.
Ensure all construction activities are carried out in accordance with applicable HSE policies, procedures, regulations, and standards.
Contribute to project Lessons Learned / REX activities.
 
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a relevant Science discipline.
Minimum 8 years of relevant project execution experience, with previous leadership experience in Mechanical/HVAC scope within an EPC contract environment in the Oil & Gas industry.
At least 1 year of supervisory experience, including acting supervisory roles or oversight of service/vendor personnel.
Strong knowledge of project execution procedures, construction management, and field execution techniques.
Experience in fabrication, welding, lifting, mechanical testing, and completions.
Experience working with Oil & Gas companies, EPC contractors, service companies, or heavy construction organizations.
Strong knowledge of applicable design standards, specifications, codes, and HSE requirements.
Knowledge and experience in major fabrication, transportation, installation, Brownfield execution, and hook-up activities.
Knowledge of offshore and onshore facilities and/or fabrication yard operations.
Knowledge of execution methods and associated risks for LNG and sour gas facilities.
Strong coordination, communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Experience
Experience with large rotating gas compressor packages, including turbine-driven compressors.
Experience with large gas turbine generator units.
Good knowledge of HVAC systems, particularly HVAC systems associated with offshore electrical and instrumentation rooms.
Brownfield project experience would be an advantage.
