We are looking for an experienced Construction Lead (LQ Other Structures) to provide specialist support and oversee the safe and successful execution of coating and insulation fabrication activities for a major Oil & Gas project in Hazira, India
Construction Lead (LQ Other Structures)
Job Location: India – Hazira
The successful candidate will work closely with the EPC Contractor, Subcontractors, Engineering, Operations, and other project stakeholders to ensure construction activities meet the required HSE, quality, schedule, technical, and project execution standards.
Key Responsibilities
Provide specialist support to the EPC Contractor for the safe and successful execution of coating and insulation fabrication activities.
Ensure construction activities meet project objectives related to HSE, quality, schedule, and overall project delivery.
Oversee and provide technical support for Contractor/Subcontractor activities related to coating and insulation fabrication.
Ensure compliance with contractual requirements, project specifications, applicable international standards, and Company requirements.
Review engineering deliverables and verify their constructability and compliance with technical requirements.
Review and provide input on deviations from Company construction standards and project requirements.
Ensure the preparation and completion of relevant construction documentation and dossiers, including materials, fabricated items, pre-commissioning/commissioning documentation, and as-built records.
Monitor progress and identify concerns related to schedule, quality, and execution, recommending corrective actions where required.
Review Contractor progress reports and highlight critical issues, delays, deviations, and areas requiring attention.
Liaise with Contractors and Subcontractors regarding coating and insulation activities and monitor their progress and reporting.
Participate in Risk Assessment, Pre-Job, technical, and coordination meetings as required.
Ensure all activities are conducted in accordance with applicable HSE policies, procedures, regulations, and standards.
Participate in Lessons Learned / REX activities.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a relevant Science discipline.
Minimum 8 years of experience on large Oil & Gas projects in construction-related disciplines, including construction, installation, fabrication, execution, completion, or hook-up.
Minimum 1 year of supervisory experience, including experience providing specialist/expert support in coating and insulation.
Strong knowledge of project execution procedures, construction management, and field execution techniques.
Knowledge of fabrication, welding, lifting, mechanical testing, and completion activities.
Experience working with Oil & Gas companies, EPC contractors, service companies, or heavy construction companies.
Good knowledge of applicable design standards, specifications, codes, and HSE requirements.
Experience/knowledge of major fabrication, transportation, installation, Brownfield execution, and hook-up activities.
Knowledge of offshore facilities and structures, onshore facilities, and/or fabrication yard operations.
Knowledge of execution methods and associated risks related to LNG and sour gas facilities.
Experience working in large-scale operating organizations within Operations, Projects, Subsurface, or similar functions.
Preferred Skills & Experience
Strong specialist knowledge of coating and insulation systems in Oil & Gas projects.
Experience with large-scale fabrication yard activities.
Experience in Brownfield projects is an advantage.
Strong Contractor/Subcontractor management and coordination skills.
Excellent communication, reporting, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
