Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Construction Lead (CP Preservation) to support a major offshore compression platform project. This role is critical in ensuring the effective planning, coordination, and execution of all material preservation activities from fabrication through to load-out.
You will play a key role in safeguarding equipment integrity throughout storage, transportation, and installation phases, ensuring alignment with project safety, quality, and schedule objectives. The role is based in Sohar, Oman

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee all preservation activities related to compression platform fabrication and construction.
  • Ensure effective implementation of project and contractor preservation plans.
  • Develop and execute preservation surveillance strategies for equipment and materials.
  • Monitor contractor performance and ensure compliance with project specifications and standards.
  • Participate in preservation walkdowns and quality assurance activities.
  • Review and assess deviations from construction standards and provide recommendations.
  • Analyse progress reports, identifying risks, delays, and performance gaps.
  • Coordinate with contractors and subcontractors across mechanical completion, pre-commissioning, and commissioning phases.
  • Lead risk assessments, technical meetings, and pre-job planning sessions.
  • Capture and implement lessons learned to improve project execution and future performance.
 
Requirements
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related scientific discipline
Experience
  • Prior experience in construction-related roles within large-scale oil & gas or LNG projects
  • Proven supervisory or leadership experience within fabrication or construction environments
  • Experience in preservation of materials/equipment for offshore facilities
  • Background working with operators, EPC contractors, or major construction organizations
Technical Knowledge
  • Strong understanding of fabrication, installation, and construction practices
  • Familiarity with preservation methods for offshore and onshore facilities
  • Knowledge of industry standards, codes, and safety regulations
  • Experience with LNG or sour gas projects is highly desirable
  • Understanding of commissioning and pre-commissioning processes
