We are seeking an experienced Completions Coordinator to support our client, a major global industrial organization who is delivering a large-scale hydrogen production facility in the Edmonton region.
Reporting to the Completions Manager, this is a critical field-based role responsible for driving structured system turnover, managing completions documentation, coordinating walkdowns, and ensuring safe and efficient validation of plant systems prior to operational handover.  This opportunity is ideal for a commissioning professional who understands disciplined turnover processes within high-expectation industrial environments.

Position Summary

The Completions Coordinator will oversee all completions activities from Construction Turnover through final Operations Handover, acting as custodian of the Completions Management Plan and Completions Software (CMS).  The encumbent will coordinate system validation, manage turnover documentation, support CSU activities, organize formal walkdowns, and ensure full traceability and compliance across all systems.
Key Responsibilities Completions & System Turnover
  • Custodian of the Completions Management Plan and CMS software
  • Coordinate structured system turnover from Construction to CSU to Operations
  • Develop and schedule formal walkdown inspections
  • Create and manage walkdown packages
  • Maintain and drive Master Punchlist tracking and mitigation plans
  • Coordinate ITR validation and acceptance requirements
  • Organize and archive turnover and CSU documentation
  • Maintain post-handover/warranty deficiency tracking
  • Support cross-functional deficiency resolution (“Tiger Team”)
Commissioning & Startup Support
  • Assist in temporary system transfers from Construction to CSU control
  • Participate in inspections, validation processes, and mitigation planning
  • Develop daily completions status reports aligned with project schedule
  • Ensure accurate documentation prior to final handover
HSE & Process Safety
  • Act as a proactive Safety Ambassador on site
  • Adhere to project safety directives and site-specific standards
  • Participate in site inspections, drills, and safety meetings
  • Understand and support HAZOP, PSSR, and Process Safety Management principles
Cross-Functional Coordination
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Construction, Quality, CSU, and Operations teams
  • Read and interpret P&IDs, Isometrics, SLDs, and Loop Diagrams
  • Identify schedule conflicts and support mitigation planning
  • Align commissioning progress with time-phased budgets and system priorities
Qualifications & Experience Required Certifications (One of the Following)
  • 4th Class Power Engineer (minimum)
  • Journeyman Interprovincial Red Seal
  • Process Technician / Technologist
  • Professional Process Engineer
  • PMP designation
Experience
  • 10–15 years industrial experience
  • Minimum 5 years leading commissioning & completions activities
  • Strong background in commissioning industrial plants
  • Experience in hydrogen, industrial gas, power generation, chemical, cryogenic, syngas, or CO₂ capture facilities preferred
  • Experience with Smart Completions Management Software preferred
Technical Skills
  • Strong knowledge of system validation and ITR processes
  • Ability to interpret:
    • P&IDs
    • Isometrics
    • SLDs
    • Loop Diagrams
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite and CMS platforms
  • Strong documentation control and process discipline

  • Valid Driver’s License
  • D&A testing, driver’s abstract, and background check required
