Completion and Well Intervention Engineer

Role Overview 
The Completion and Well Intervention Engineer is responsible for planning, designing, and coordinating completion and well intervention operations to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective delivery. The role involves providing technical expertise in completion design, well services, and intervention execution while maintaining compliance with company HSE and operational standards. This position requires close collaboration with various teams to optimize production and improve overall well performance.

Reporting Level
Reports to the Lead Completion and Well Intervention Engineer and collaborates closely with drilling, well services, and production teams. Provides technical support to offshore supervisors and service contractors during operational execution.

Work Environment
The role is primarily office-based in Qatar with regular offshore visits to supervise and monitor completion and intervention activities. Offshore rotations or short-term assignments may be required depending on operational needs. Work involves coordination with multi-discipline teams, contractors, and service providers to ensure operational readiness and safe project delivery.

Requirements / Qualifications
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of oilfield experience, including at least 1 year offshore.
• Strong knowledge of completion and well intervention operations including slickline, E-line, coiled tubing, pumping, treatments, and wellhead maintenance.
• Experience with intelligent completion technology and control line management.
• Familiarity with tendering, procurement, and coordination with service companies.
• IWCF Level 4 certification.
• Excellent communication and technical writing skills in English.
• Strong understanding of HSE principles and ALARP philosophy.

Responsibilities
  1. Develop and execute well completion and intervention programs ensuring operational safety, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
  2. Coordinate with Well Performance and Asset Teams to identify valid workover candidates and develop intervention solutions.
  3. Manage procurement activities, service contracts, and invoices related to completion and intervention operations.
  4. Prepare and distribute job programs, operational procedures, and risk assessments in a timely manner.
  5. Provide technical support and ensure offshore supervisors are well-informed before job execution.
  6. Maintain well files, records, and documentation for all completion and intervention operations.
  7. Participate in daily and weekly operations meetings to review progress and resolve issues.
  8. Capture and document lessons learned to support continuous improvement initiatives.
  9. Evaluate contractor performance and ensure compliance with service quality standards.
  10. Support tender evaluation, technical review, and vendor qualification processes.
  11. Contribute to company sustainability initiatives by promoting energy efficiency and emissions reduction.
