WE’RE HIRING – COMMISSIONING OPERATOR – POWER BLOCKOrion Project Services is looking for an experienced Commissioning Operator to support the commissioning and startup of a major industrial Power Block project in the Edmonton area.This is a hands-on field role supporting the startup, testing and stabilization of Gas Turbine Generators (GTGs) and Steam Turbine Generators (STGs).Location: Edmonton, Alberta
Position: Commissioning Operator – Power BlockIMPORTANT – THESE ARE MANDATORY:• MUST be local to the Edmonton area
• MUST currently be in Canada
• MUST be legally entitled to work in Canada
• No LOA or relocation assistance is available
• Minimum 4th Class Power Engineer certificationWhat we’re looking for:• 3–5+ years of hands-on operating experience
• Gas Turbine Generator (GTG) and/or Steam Turbine Generator (STG) experience
• Commissioning and startup experience is strongly preferred
• Strong understanding of turbine operation and associated systems
• Experience with equipment testing, troubleshooting and system performance verification
• Experience with isolations, safe work permits and commissioning walkdowns
• Ability to work directly with vendors, engineering and commissioning teams
• Experience training or mentoring operations personnel is an assetThe role will be heavily field focused and include commissioning, functional testing, turbine startup, synchronization, load progression and reliability testing.If you meet ALL of the mandatory requirements, please send me a direct message or forward your resume.
