We are currently looking for an experienced Commissioning Lead (SIMOPS) to join our client’s team in Ras Laffan, Qatar.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of Simultaneous Operations (SIMOPS), ensuring safe and efficient delivery in line with project schedules and SHES requirements.
  • Act as the project focal point for SIMOPS and Permit to Work (PTW) systems, including PTW and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO).
  • Provide leadership and oversight to EPC contractors and subcontractors to ensure timely and safe execution of SIMOPS and site activities.
  • Coordinate closely with Construction, Pre-Commissioning, Commissioning, SHES, Operations, Engineering and Quality teams.
  • Oversee SIMOPS activities during Pre-Commissioning and Commissioning phases across multiple disciplines.
  • Support contractors with SHES risk assessments, including HAZIDs and other risk evaluations.
  • Lead the development, implementation and maintenance of SIMOPS, LOTO and PTW procedures and documentation.
  • Manage SIMOPS/PTW-related site activities, including LOTO, JSAs and PTWs.
  • Maintain SIMOPS-related registers, including Red Blinds, LOTO and BPO registers.
  • Support safe execution of commissioning activities involving brownfield interfaces and tie-ins with live facilities.
  • Review contractor and subcontractor documentation and participate in periodic system audits.
 
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Sciences or Engineering.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience with large-project commissioning in the Oil & Gas industry.
  • At least 1 year of supervisory experience, including acting or oversight roles.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience as a SIMOPS/PTW Coordinator, Commissioning Lead, Operations Lead or in a similar role.
  • Strong experience in Pre-Commissioning, Commissioning and Start-up.
  • Expertise in SHES hazard identification, risk assessment and SIMOPS/PTW management.
  • Experience leading multi-disciplinary and multicultural teams in commissioning field execution.
  • Experience in brownfield onshore projects is desirable.
  • Experience working with Oil & Gas companies, contractors or service companies.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
  • Strong leadership, communication, analytical, planning and organisational skills
