We are currently seeking an experienced Commissioning Lead – Process to provide technical oversight and direction during the offshore hook-up, pre-commissioning and commissioning phases of a major Oil & Gas project.
The successful candidate will work closely with the HUC team, facilities team, EPC contractor, subcontractors, vendors and operations personnel, providing technical guidance on Process engineering, commissioning activities, codes, standards and project requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Provide technical oversight and direction to EPC contractors, subcontractors and vendors during offshore hook-up and commissioning activities.
Act as the Process Hook-Up and Commissioning Lead, providing technical guidance and reviewing project documentation and deliverables.
Review critical technical documents, contractor procedures, reports and commissioning documentation.
Analyse technical proposals, deviations, exceptions and new technologies to ensure compliance with project requirements, applicable codes, standards and design intent.
Coordinate and supervise the delivery of completions and systems completion deliverables from the EPC contractor.
Support the change management process related to Hook-Up and Commissioning execution strategies.
Review and approve contractor procedures and ensure accurate documentation of redlines throughout construction, hook-up, pre-commissioning and commissioning.
Participate in technical workshops, design reviews, inspections and site testing as required.
Act as the commissioning focal point during discipline site testing, FATs and SATs, ensuring compliance with project deliverables and commissioning requirements.
Witness contractor activities and sign off test and check sheets in accordance with project requirements.
Support completions walkdowns and Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSR).
Review EPC contractor progress reports and verify the accuracy of reported progress.
Assess contractor manpower requirements and provide recommendations to the project team.
Support project teams in achieving key project milestones and develop recovery plans where schedule delays occur.
Support the qualification of new suppliers where required.
Apply lessons learned from previous projects and share relevant learnings with project and EPC teams.
Participate in quality audits and review activities, report findings and support the implementation of corrective actions.
Support the project through start-up and handover to Operations.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Applied Sciences.
Minimum 8 years of experience in large-scale project commissioning within the Oil & Gas industry.
At least 1 year of supervisory experience, including acting supervisory roles or oversight of service/vendor personnel.
Strong experience in Process Hook-Up and Commissioning and associated project execution phases.
In-depth knowledge of Process engineering, design requirements and risk-based evaluation of complex technical issues.
Experience with completions, walkdowns, pre-commissioning, commissioning and Pre-Startup Safety Reviews.
Knowledge of flow assurance, hydrostatic testing and nitrogen leak testing.
Experience with performance testing of gas turbine compressors and verification against design specifications.
Strong knowledge of applicable engineering codes, standards, specifications and safety requirements for fabrication, transportation, installation, brownfield execution and hook-up activities.
Experience working with Oil & Gas operating companies, EPC contractors or service companies.
Excellent ability to interpret P&IDs, datasheets, General Arrangement drawings and technical procedures.
Good knowledge of project execution, engineering, operations, pre-commissioning, commissioning and systems completion.
Experience with LNG industry vendors and major equipment such as compressors, power generation systems, control systems and topsides equipment.
Experience supporting start-up and transition to Operations.
Good understanding of contract requirements, technical specifications, codes and standards.
