We currently have an opportunity for a Commissioning Lead (Preservation) role. This position is based in Qatar onshore.

Work Location: Qatar Onshore – Raslaffan
Duration: 36 Months
Job Purpose
The Commissioning Lead (Preservation) is responsible for managing and supervising the preservation activities at Qatar Fabrication yard and Ras Laffan Industrial City of the NFE Offshore project.
Job Context & Major Challenge
Maintaining consistent communication with contractor(s), suppliers, Project Management Team and Operations.
Management of preservation scope/resources at Qatar Fabrication (including spaces).
Schedule management (planning and tracking), ensuring schedules and procedures are clearly agreed, and expectations of all stakeholders met in a timely manner.
Effective management and tracking of change with multi-disciplinary engagement.
Effective closure/handover.
Key Job Accountabilities
Ensure equipment are well preserved and safe to be used and act as safety champion during preservation walkdown.
Monitor the Contractor’s preservation activities ensuring adherence to the system completion methodology and proper use of the system database.
Interface with various project teams and departments to resolve related preservation issues through effective communication, initiative, flexibility and the ability to induce collaboration.
Ensure that all preservation requirements are stated in dedicated procedure and identify any further requirements to be added by gathering the necessary approvals.
Review supplier documentation and ensure that all relevant supplier recommendations and specifications are incorporated into the relevant Qatar Fabrication preservation and project procedures. Consult the relevant parties within the project and confirm that preservation requirements are adequate and correct.
Review existing database(s) and record system(s) at Qatar Fabrication for preservation activities
Liaise with relevant teams to ensure that critical preservation is not compromised by fabrication, testing, construction, painting or installation activities.
Liaise with OES to ensure expectations are met, to ensure smooth handover.
Manage, audit and track main construction/installation activities to ensure de-preservation/re-preservation is properly implemented and recorded.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Sciences or Engineering.
Knowledge and/or Experience
8 years’ experience with large project in Oil and Gas industry, including 1 year of experience in a supervisory role, including acting roles or oversight of service/vendor personnel.
Expert in reading P&IDs, Datasheets, General Arrangement drawings and procedures.
Knowledge in compliance with contract requirements including codes and standards, and contract technical specification compliance.
Experience with vendors operating in the LNG industry, such as compressors, power generation, control systems, topsides, etc.
Experience working in large scale operating organizations in Operations, Projects, Subsurface, etc.
Knowledge in projects execution, engineering, operations, pre-commissioning, commissioning and systems completion.
Experience in corrosion, chemicals, materials, mechanical, or related discipline in the oil and gas industry
Familiar with appropriate works related to preservation including, but not limited to, checklists and hydrotest, lifting, lay-up and load out, inspection test plans, chemical handling, materials and plant inspection, corrosion/integrity management, quality, welding procedures and inspections.
Experiences for handling EPC contractors, sub-contractors and vendors.
Application and in-depth knowledge of stakeholder specifications and a working knowledge of Industry standards.
Milestone and schedule orientated.
Interpersonal skills, able to work in a team.
Capable of decision making with consultation to establish mutual direction
Experience in offshore environment is a plus.
Technical and Business Skills
Computer literacy involving the regular use of professional office applications and some technical applications.
Ability to communicate with Contractor’s team and obtain required information as requested.
Experienced with Interface coordination and support activities and documentation.
