Commissioning Lead (Instrumentation & Controls)

Overview: We are currently looking for a Commissioning Lead (Instrumentation & Control) to join a major onshore energy project in Qatar.
This is a critical leadership role overseeing full-cycle Pre-Commissioning & Commissioning (PC&C) execution within a complex brownfield environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee all I&C Pre-Commissioning & Commissioning activities across EPC scope
• Drive EPC contractor performance to meet project schedule, deliverables, and compliance standards
• Manage system completions, procedures, and commissioning execution strategies
• Coordinate closely with Engineering, Construction, Operations, and Quality teams
• Ensure technical alignment with project specifications and QatarEnergy LNG requirements
• Validate contractor capabilities, tools, manpower, and reporting processes
• Monitor schedule progress, identify delays, and implement recovery plans
• Support knowledge sharing and capture lessons learned across project lifecycle

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Applied Sciences
• Minimum 8+ years of experience in I&C Commissioning
• Strong expertise in systemization, completions database, and commissioning procedures
• Proven experience in brownfield onshore commissioning and startup
• Hands-on experience in testing, functional checks, and complex system startup
• Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills
• Excellent communication and coordination abilities
