Location: United Arab Emirates (Dubai) – with missions to Iraq and vendor premises
Contract Type: Residential / Long-term assignment
We are seeking an experienced Commissioning Instrumentation Lead to join a major Gas Midstream Project (GMP) in Southern Iraq, operated by a leading international energy company. This is a key role within the commissioning team, responsible for ensuring the safe, timely, and compliant commissioning of all instrumentation systems, including analysers and metering, across the Gas Processing Plant (GPP) and pipeline facilities.

We are seeking an experienced Commissioning Instrumentation Lead to join a major Gas Midstream Project (GMP) in Southern Iraq, operated by a leading international energy company. This is a key role within the commissioning team, responsible for ensuring the safe, timely, and compliant commissioning of all instrumentation systems, including analysers and metering, across the Gas Processing Plant (GPP) and pipeline facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and execute commissioning activities for all instrumentation systems in alignment with OPERCOM™ methodology.
- Coordinate with contractors and vendors to ensure seamless interface with ICSS systems, including HART diagnostics and inter-trip logic validation.
- Supervise instrumentation commissioning activities on site and ensure adherence to HSE standards and project specifications.
- Validate fiscal/custody meters in collaboration with local authorities.
- Support ICAPS population, punch list resolution, and system handover readiness.
- Liaise closely with construction, pre-commissioning, and field operations teams to foster a One Team approach.
- Capture lessons learned and contribute to continuous improvement of commissioning practices.

Profile
- Engineering degree with 10+ years’ experience in oil & gas projects, focusing on instrumentation commissioning.
- Proven experience with metering and custody transfer systems.
- Knowledge of OPERCOM™ and ICAPS© is a strong advantage.
- Solid understanding of functional analysis, SIL compliance, and SIF testing.
- Broad technical knowledge covering pneumatic, hydraulic, and modern digital instrumentation technologies.
- Fluent in English; strong coordination and communication skills.
