Orion Group is working with a successful and well established Civil Engineering client to source a Civils Project Manager to join there team based in Northern Scotland,
As the Civils Project Manager you will be initially overseeing a large Earthworks project to make way for a new Substation and associated buildings.
Applicants can either be based in Glasgow or the Highlands until Q1 2026 and will then be bsite based on the Isle of Lewis for the duration of the project.
So, what are we looking for?
You will be skilled in the delivery of civil engineering projects, preferably with experience of large Earthworks projects within renewable energy, Power & Transmission, highways, or marine construction, exceeding £10m in value.
This will mean you also have a commercial mind-set with a good understanding of commercial contracts (NEC3/4).
To succeed, you’ll need excellent communication and analytical skills alongside:

To succeed, you’ll need excellent communication and analytical skills alongside:
- HND or Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or Construction Management, or a related field.
- Experience in civil engineering projects, with proven experience managing large scale Earthworks.
- Demonstrable Project Management skills, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, forecasting and resource management
- Be able to implement quality management processes and procedures to ensure that the project is delivered to the required quality, standard and specification
- The ability to conduct regular inspections, audits and quality checks to ensure compliance with company procedures and project requirements

Additional skills and experience that would be beneficial
- Familiarity with heavy civil construction techniques
- Knowledge of MCHW or National Grid specifications
- An understanding of the Scottish civil engineering sector
- Previous experience working in remote or island locations
