An experienced and detail-oriented Control and Instrumentation Designer is required to join a specialist Electrical, Control and Instrumentation team. This is a critical role focused on producing high-quality design documentation in support of complex engineering projects, primarily in the offshore and petrochemical sectors. You will play a key part in ensuring control systems are designed and integrated effectively across technical disciplines, while maintaining high standards of safety, accuracy, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and produce C&I design documentation using SmartPlant Instrumentation (INtools), AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office, including:
    • Instrument Index and Datasheets
    • Cable Block Diagrams and Cable Schedules
    • IO Schedules and Loop Drawings
    • Termination Diagrams and Hook-Up Drawings
    • Hazardous Area Schedules
  • Collaborate with the C&I Engineer to ensure instrumentation selection aligns with project specifications.
  • Integrate C&I designs with other departments such as Electrical and Process Engineering.
  • Review and validate internal and vendor documentation for technical accuracy and compliance.
  • Support continuous improvement of design procedures and standards.
  • Ensure all work meets safety, quality, and contractual obligations.
Requirements
  • HNC (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Proven experience designing instrumentation systems in offshore or petrochemical environments.
  • Proficiency with SmartPlant Instrumentation (INtools) and AutoCAD.
  • Experience with hazardous area instrumentation design.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills across technical teams.
  • High attention to detail and a methodical approach to design work.
  • Willingness to travel abroad for project-related assignments.
